Shaq Attack

Go big or go home

No one can ignore the legend Shaquille O'Neal. But his 2.16 metres and 147 kilos are not the only reason for this. His career as a basketball player in the NBA is even more impressive than his physical appearance. Shaq, as people usually call him, is one of the most dominant and influential players in the history of the highest basketball league in the United States.

Shaq began his basketball career in high school in San Antonio, Texas. There, he quickly stood out as one of the best players. Later, at Louisiana State University (LSU), he excelled as a centre. It turned out to be just the beginning of the impressive career that followed. In 1992, Shaq decided to apply for the NBA Draft and was chosen first - 1st Overall Pick - by Orlando Magic.

Success on and off the court
In his first season in the NBA, Shaq immediately proved his worth as one of the most dominant players in the league. He scored an average of 23.4 points per game and grabbed 13.9 rebounds. The NBA named him Rookie of the Year and selected him for the All-Star team. In the following years, he continued to show his dominance. He managed to win four NBA titles: three with Los Angeles Lakers and one with Miami Heat.

Besides his success on the basketball court, Shaq is also active as a rapper. His first album from 1993, Shaq Diesel, reached platinum status. He also produces music and tours around the world as DJ DIESEL. After his basketball career, Shaq remained active as an analyst for the NBA. He regularly appeared in films and had his own reality shows: Shaq's Big Challenge and Shaq Vs.

SHAQ X Invicta
His status as a legend caught the attention of Invicta. Together with the famous basketball player, the Swiss watch brand released the SHAQ collection. Capital Sports made sure no one could ignore this collection either. To introduce the campaign, the basketball player traveled all over America for meet-and-greets with fans at Invicta shops. The turnout was huge.

Capital Sports took care of capturing the meet and greets and the associated social advertising. We also developed an activation in which fans could win a watch from the Invicta SHAQ collection by playing a unique game. The activation generated many new leads for Invicta and drew extra attention to Shaquille O'Neal's unique watches.

About Invicta Watch

Invincible. That's what the Latin Invicta means. When we talk about Invicta, we are talking about the originally Swiss watch brand. Invicta originated almost two centuries ago, in 1837, in the small town of La Chaux-de-Fonds. Since then, the watchmaker may call Miami its home. In the state of Florida, Invicta Watch Group houses the Invicta, TechnoMarine, S. Coifman and Glycine Switzerland brands.

Invicta is known for the vast amount of designs and product innovations the brand releases. In almost two centuries, more than 4,000 unique models were introduced by Invicta. More than 55 patents have also been granted in the field of design and mechanics. Not surprisingly, the watchmaker has been able to amass a strong following of collectors around the world. Although those fans also often come to appreciate something else Invicta excels at.

Indeed, these are the partnerships with big names that Invicta enters into. Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, DC Comics, Warner Brothers, US Army and US Navy: these are just a few of the brand's many successful partnerships. In sports, too, Invicta is a well-known and much-loved name. Thanks to partnerships with athletes such as Shaquille O'Neal, Jason Taylor, and Juan Manuel Correa, Invicta shines on the wrists of the world's best athletes.

It's not only athletes who appreciate Invicta, but also entire teams and even leagues that enjoy working with the watch brand. Invicta sponsors the US NFL, MLB, and NHL and is Official Timekeeper of the American football team Las Vegas Raiders. Since 2023, they've also been title sponsor of Formula 2 team Invicta Racing. These are all partnerships that underline Invicta's motto: invincible.
