Invincible in Detail

A spectacular comeback

Although Invicta has been around for almost 200 years, it was only recently that a broad corporate campaign was launched for the first time. Brainstorming sessions with the marketing team at headquarters in Florida and at the studio in familiar 's-Hertogenbosch produced the theme 'Invincible in detail'. This theme refers to the Latin origin of the brand's name - Invicta means invincible - and the rich detailing so characteristic of Invicta.

In keeping with this theme, Invicta and Capital Sports travelled to Le Castellet in France in the summer of 2022. At race circuit Paul Ricard, a team of nearly 20 people gathered there. Among them is Formula 3 driver Juan Manuel Correa. On his wrist shines a unique Invicta racing watch. We will capture that on camera during two shoot days.

Invincible
Invincible. It is the perfect word to describe Juan Manuel Correa. The Ecuadorian driver's life is going like a boyhood dream. He wins titles with karting in his home country and the U.S., works his way up to Formula 4, GP3 and achieves podiums during his first year in Formula 2 in 2019. The step up to the highest racing class seems within reach.

Then things go wrong. Horribly wrong. During the Formula 2 race at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, Juan Manuel is involved in a big crash. Fellow driver Anthoine Hubert dies from his injuries, Correa breaks both legs and suffers a spinal injury. In the weeks that follow, the then 20-year-old driver lies in a coma.

But he overcomes. After several operations, a months-long process of rehabilitation follows. Juan Manuel amazes everyone with his recovery. As early as 2021, he manages to secure a place in Formula 3. After two seasons in this racing class, he returns to Formula 2 in 2023. The fight he has put up shows that he does not give up easily. He is, like the Invicta S1 collection, Invincible in detail.

Shoot in France
For the campaign, Invicta knocked on the door of Capital Sports. At circuit Paul Ricard - with its distinctive red and blue lines - we portray Invicta's S1 collection. We tell Juan Manuel's story, take action shots of him in his race car and shoot promotional material for the watches.

As part of the campaign, which features on social media and television in the U.S. and Europe, among others, we also developed an activation game. In it, people can test their own responsiveness by racing on a crowded track. The longer you manage to dodge the other cars, the higher your score. The aim of this activation is to generate leads and then send game participants a survey of various racing watches.

It is during projects like this that we at Capital Sports realize how special it is that we, as a marketing agency from Den Bosch, work for an international brand like Invicta. That the stunning images we shot can be seen worldwide. On Invicta and Juan Manuel Correa's social media, at all Invicta shops and even in Times Square in New York.

About Invicta Watch

Invincible. That's what the Latin Invicta means. When we talk about Invicta, we are talking about the originally Swiss watch brand. Invicta originated almost two centuries ago, in 1837, in the small town of La Chaux-de-Fonds. Since then, the watchmaker may call Miami its home. In the state of Florida, Invicta Watch Group houses the Invicta, TechnoMarine, S. Coifman and Glycine Switzerland brands.

Invicta is known for the vast amount of designs and product innovations the brand releases. In almost two centuries, more than 4,000 unique models were introduced by Invicta. More than 55 patents have also been granted in the field of design and mechanics. Not surprisingly, the watchmaker has been able to amass a strong following of collectors around the world. Although those fans also often come to appreciate something else Invicta excels at.

Indeed, these are the partnerships with big names that Invicta enters into. Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, DC Comics, Warner Brothers, US Army and US Navy: these are just a few of the brand's many successful partnerships. In sports, too, Invicta is a well-known and much-loved name. Thanks to partnerships with athletes such as Shaquille O'Neal, Jason Taylor, and Juan Manuel Correa, Invicta shines on the wrists of the world's best athletes.

It's not only athletes who appreciate Invicta, but also entire teams and even leagues that enjoy working with the watch brand. Invicta sponsors the US NFL, MLB, and NHL and is Official Timekeeper of the American football team Las Vegas Raiders. Since 2023, they've also been title sponsor of Formula 2 team Invicta Racing. These are all partnerships that underline Invicta's motto: invincible.
