Capital Sports has been a partner of Global Sports Communication since 2018. At the initiative of this sports management agency from Nijmegen, we worked closely together on the launch of Runfest, a marathon series that offers runners the opportunity to compete in iconic cities around the world. Runfest goes beyond just the athletic challenge of running: it combines the marathon with the discovery of new cultures and the experience of local traditions.
More than a marathon
Runfest is designed for runners who want more than just pushing their limits and reaching the finish line as quickly as possible. It is a series of well-organized marathons that offers participants the chance to challenge their personal boundaries while also connecting with an international community of like-minded athletes. The series focuses on the experience of running in extraordinary, global locations, where adventure and culture are just as important as performance.
Ambassador role for an icon
Marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge plays an important role as an ambassador for Runfest. As a multiple Olympic and major marathon champion, and the first man to complete a marathon in under two hours, Kipchoge is the ultimate example of dedication, discipline, and passion for the sport. His impressive achievements and philosophy on running align seamlessly with Runfest's values. With his global fame and inspiring story, Kipchoge motivates runners to participate in Runfest, spreading the message that running is not just about speed, but about discovery, new experiences, and creating lasting memories.
Successful collaboration
Capital Sports has been working closely with Global Sports Communication for years on leading projects in the running world. For example, we have been involved in promoting the FBK Games and global campaigns for the NN Running Team, such as Back2TheStreets and Mission Marathon. For this latest project, Capital Sports is responsible for the ‘Runfest’ name, the branding, logo design, visual identity, and the development of the website. Additionally, we managed the online campaign for the launch of the marathon series. Thijmen Boet, with whom Capital Sports and Global Sports Communication have collaborated for many years, was responsible for the video featuring Eliud Kipchoge, filmed on the streets of Bangkok. The first steps to position Runfest as the marathon series of the future have now been taken. Together with Global Sports Communication, we remain committed to growing Runfest worldwide and enriching the running adventure of thousands of athletes.
